How it works
How to make a Facebook QR code
- 1
Copy your Facebook link
Open your page, profile, group or event, then copy the address from the browser (or Share → Copy link in the app).
- 2
Paste it here
Paste the link above. For a page with a username, you can type just the username.
- 3
Download and test
Scan it with your phone, ideally logged out of Facebook, to check anyone can see it.
Generated entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded.
What a Facebook QR code can open
Any public Facebook link: your business page, a personal profile, a group, an event or a single post. On phones with the Facebook app, it opens in the app; otherwise in the browser.
For businesses, linking the page is the safest choice because it stays the same for years. Events and posts are great for a specific campaign, but they end, so a dynamic code that you can redirect afterwards is a better fit for those.
Make sure people can see it
Private groups and profiles with restricted visibility show a log-in or “content isn’t available” screen to most scanners. Check the visibility of what you link before printing, and test the code while logged out.
Use cases
Where Facebook QR codes work well
Local shops
On the door or counter: “Follow us for offers and opening hours.”
Cafés and restaurants
On menus and table cards for specials, events and reviews.
Events
On posters, so people tap “Going” and get reminders.
Groups and clubs
Join codes for community, school and hobby groups.
Places of worship and charities
Newsletters and fundraising updates for your community.
Gyms and studios
Class schedules and announcements, straight from the front desk.
Best practices
Tips for a Facebook QR code that works
Link to something public
Test while logged out: if you see a log-in wall, most scanners will too.
Use your page’s username
facebook.com/yourpage is shorter than an ID link and makes a simpler code.
Give a reason to scan
“Follow for weekly offers” or “RSVP here” beats a bare code.
Print it large enough
At least 2 × 2 cm on cards, 5 cm and up on posters, with a clear margin.
Static or dynamic?
Linking an event or a post? Make it dynamic
Pages last; events and posts don’t. With a dynamic code, the poster for this month’s event can point at next month’s, or back to your page once it’s over, and you see how many people scanned each poster.
- Free static code for your page
- Redirect after the event without reprinting
- Scan counts per location
