Acceptable Use Policy

Effective October 1, 2026 · Last updated October 10, 2026

Every QR-10 code should be safe to scan. These rules help keep it that way — for our customers and everyone who points a camera at a QR-10 code.

01Purpose

People trust that scanning a QR code is safe. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out what you may not do with QR-10 so that every QR-10 code stays trustworthy. It applies to all users and all plans and forms part of our Terms of Service. You are responsible for every destination, file and piece of content linked from your QR codes.

02Prohibited destinations and content

You must not create QR codes or short links that point to, host or promote:

Fraud and security threats

  • phishing pages or any page that imitates another brand or service to collect credentials, payment or personal data;
  • malware, spyware, ransomware, unwanted software or drive-by downloads;
  • scams, fake giveaways, pyramid or Ponzi schemes, fake invoices or parking-payment fraud (“quishing”);
  • unlicensed financial services, unregistered investment schemes or deceptive cryptocurrency offers.

Illegal and harmful content

  • child sexual abuse material or any content that sexualises minors — we report this to the authorities;
  • content that promotes terrorism, violent extremism or incites violence or hatred against people based on protected characteristics;
  • illegal drugs, weapons, explosives, counterfeit goods or other illegal products and services;
  • non-consensual intimate imagery, harassment, doxxing or threats;
  • sexually explicit content, unless it is lawful and access is restricted to verified adults;
  • unlicensed gambling or content that is illegal where it is targeted.

Rights violations

  • content that infringes copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual-property rights;
  • content that collects or exposes other people’s personal data without a lawful basis.

03Prohibited conduct

  • Sending spam, or using QR-10 short links in unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Cloaking or rotating destinations to hide malicious content from review (for example showing a safe page to reviewers and a harmful page to scanners).
  • Placing QR codes over another organisation’s legitimate codes (for example on parking meters, menus or posters) without permission.
  • Attempting to access other accounts, probe or test the vulnerability of our systems, or bypass rate limits or plan restrictions.
  • Using automated means to create accounts or codes in bulk, or to generate artificial scans.
  • Reselling or white-labelling the Service without our written agreement.
  • Using the Service in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation, including export-control and sanctions laws.

04Monitoring and enforcement

We may scan destination URLs against threat-intelligence sources and review reported codes. If we reasonably believe a code or account breaches this AUP, we may — with or without notice:

  • disable the QR code or short link, or show a warning page to scanners;
  • remove content or require you to change the destination;
  • suspend or terminate your account without refund; and
  • report illegal activity to law enforcement and cooperate with lawful requests.

If you believe we have acted in error, contact us at contact@qr-10.com and we will review the decision.

05Report abuse

Found a QR-10 code that leads to phishing, malware or other harmful content? Please email contact@qr-10.com with the subject “Abuse report” and include:

  • the short link (for example qr-10.com/r/…) or a photo of the QR code;
  • where you found it and what it led to;
  • any screenshots or other evidence.
For copyright or trademark complaints, include your contact details, the work or mark concerned, the infringing link, and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We respond to valid notices in accordance with applicable law, including the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021 in India and equivalent notice-and-takedown laws elsewhere.
