How it works

How to make an app download QR code

  1. 1

    Copy your store link

Open your app in the App Store or Google Play, tap Share and copy the link.

  2. 2

    Paste it above

A static code holds one link. For both stores in one code, create a free dynamic app code.

  3. 3

    Test on real phones

Scan with an iPhone and an Android phone to check each one lands on the right page.

Generated entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded.

One store link, or one code for both stores?

A static QR code can only hold one link. If you paste your App Store link, Android users land on a page they can’t install from, and the other way round. That’s fine when your audience is clearly on one platform, or when you print two codes side by side labelled “iPhone” and “Android”.

For everyone else, a dynamic app code is simpler: one code that checks the phone when it is scanned and opens the App Store on iPhones and iPads, Google Play on Android, and a page with both store buttons (or a website you choose) on computers. It is free on every QR-10 account.

Where to find your app’s links

App Store links look like apps.apple.com/app/your-app/id123456789; Google Play links look like play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.app. Use the public store page, not a TestFlight or internal testing link.

Use cases

Where app QR codes drive installs

  • In-store and at the counter

“Get the app for 10% off your first order” at the till.

  • Packaging and manuals

The companion app for a device, right on the box.

  • Restaurants and delivery

Your ordering app on table cards and delivery bags.

  • TV, screens and slides

A code on screen during ads, streams and presentations.

  • Banks and services

Branch posters that move customers to the mobile app.

  • Games and events

Install links on posters, badges and booths.

Best practices

Tips for app QR codes

  • Give a reason to install

“Order faster”, “Track your delivery” or a first-order discount next to the code.

  • Label platform codes

If you print two static codes, mark them clearly: “iPhone” and “Android”.

  • Size for screens

On a TV or slide, make the code large and leave it on screen long enough to scan.

  • Track each placement

Separate dynamic codes for packaging, posters and ads show which drives installs.

Static or dynamic?

One smart code for every phone

A dynamic QR-10 app code sends iPhones to the App Store and Androids to Google Play from a single printed code. You can change either link later, for a new app or a regional listing, and see scans by device, day and country.

  • Free static code for one store link
  • One code for both stores with a dynamic code
  • Scan analytics by device and country
