How an event QR code works
The code stores your event in the standard calendar format (VEVENT). When someone scans it, many phones offer to add it to the calendar directly, with the name, start and end time, location and notes filled in.
Times are saved as local clock time: an event at 7 pm shows as 7 pm for every guest, which is what you want for an in-person event. For online events across time zones, a dynamic event page handles time zones for you.
Static code or event page?
Phone support for calendar codes varies: iPhones and many Android phones offer “Add to calendar”, while some cameras only show the text. A dynamic event page works on every phone: it shows the details with an Add to calendar button (Apple Calendar, Outlook and others) and a Google Calendar button, and you can change the time or venue if plans change.

Tips for event QR codes
Keep the description short
Every word makes the code denser. Put the full programme on a page instead.
Add the full address
The location field becomes a tappable address in most calendar apps.
Print the date too
Not everyone scans; the date and time should also be readable on the card.
Use a dynamic page for big events
If the time or venue might change, a page you can edit saves a reprint.
Static or dynamic?
Plans change. Your invitations don’t have to
A static event code is fixed once printed. A dynamic QR-10 event page shows your event on any phone, with add-to-calendar buttons, and lets you change the date, time or venue later. Every guest who scans sees the latest details.
- Free static calendar code
